The Cradle

Plenty of Nidus Aven’s draconids prefer to brood their children within the privacy of their own apartments, but for those who like the extra space, or whose clutching habits require it, a great wide grotto in the centre of the Nidus’s concentric circles is available.

Including a wide and magically-heated sand pit, as well as a courtyard, a wide shallow pool, and a well-kept tree-shaded garden, there’s generally enough space in the Cradle that something can be jerry-rigged for any unusual clutch requirements.

At the moment there are four clutches on the sands! Nidus Aven’s first flight was a blast, apparently, as more parents have clutched than anticipated. No one’s absolutely sure of egg numbers, as some of the broody parents have been burying or shifting eggs around, and the clutch that’s intermittently on fire is hard to get close to, but Nidus admin has tried their best and have announced that…

Any clutches that put out a public call for bonders or sponsors must go through the Cradle’s record-keeping services, and usually the young draconids’ debut happens ceremonially out on the Cradle’s courtyard. When there’s no clutch brooding, the Cradle is often used as a lounging and socializing area for the Nidus’s draconid population: it’s a lovely, comfortable space to lounge and chat.
