One of two Nidus leaders, traditionally female; responsible for public relations and general management of the Nidus; shares responsibility with the Primus.

Aide to the Prima. Responsible for advising, budgeting, records, and special projects; no more than three at a time.
Teachers. Responsible for teaching newly-made pairs everything they need to know.
Searchers. Discerning souls, good judges of character. Responsible for finding novos when there is a need.
Teams. A working group of dragons or dragon/rider pairs. Different Alas have different jobs, from defense, to agriculture, to construction; anything that works best as a team is a viable pitch to create an Ala.
The leader(s). Responsible for the running of the Ala, making all major decisions and functioning as a contact point for the Prima and Primus.
The aide(s). Like an Optima is to the Prima. Responsible for the detail-work of keeping the Ala running. There can be one to three at any given time.
The members. Workers in an Ala. Both single dragons and dragon/rider pairs can be referred to as an Optio. Alas usually cap out at a couple dozen.
Traditional dragon-rider pairs. The Wing Ala was created to echo an older manner of organization from the homeworlds of some of the Nidus’s dragons. Traditionally, Wings were intended for defense, and the Wing Ala trains in that vein.
Hopefuls. People, usually young and usually humanoid but not always, who are hoping to find a partner at a clutch.
